AI Is an Editor! AI Is a Time Saver for Reworking Human Outputs

February 9, 2026

AI is the latest, greatest thing and companies want it. Once companies get AI and deploy it, they see immediate gains and losses. News Room Workday investigated how AI is affecting companies and their employees in: “New Workday Research: Companies Are Leaving AI Gains On The Table.” The problem with AI is that when it is deployed, it is not being correctly leveraged. Employees spend time correcting what AI gets wrong.

Smart businesses learn how to properly deploy AI, then reinvest their employees’ time by redesigning roles, modernizing tasks, and building new skills. Companies should want AI to takeover the heaving lifting, then leaving humans to focus on creativity, connection, and judgement. This makes AI a tool instead of an human replacement.

Businesses who treat AI as a tool and take the steps to revamp their organization see positive outcomes:

“But the organizations seeing real returns are making a different choice. Employees with positive AI outcomes are far more likely to use saved time to increase the value of their work – through things like deeper analysis, stronger decision-making, and strategic thinking (57%) – rather than just taking on more tasks. They’re also far more likely to have had increased skills training (79%). The organizations realizing the greatest value from AI treat saved time as a strategic resource. They reinvest in upskilling their teams, improving collaboration, and strengthening judgment-driven work. The biggest opportunity is helping employees learn how to use AI effectively – especially in areas that require judgement, creativity, and decision-making. The research makes one thing clear: reinvesting in people is the fastest way to reduce rework, improve outcomes, and turn AI speed into lasting business value.”

Humans can write. AI can “improve” the content. Does that mean human editors are no longer necessary? What a wonderful advance! Thank you, AI bros. It is Friday the 13th, right. I wish the AI wizards good luck, black cats, ladders, etc. etc.
