were using the BlackBerry device. Palm said it
would have a server to support Domino. RIM had one. We signed a deal with RIM. The savings are running in the
15 percent range, but the real upside is
speeding up information flow. ”
•IBM’s wireless “solution” provides companies “a variety
of wireless enterprise activities, including
reading and sending e-mail, logging on to corporate Intranets, updating calendars, and accessing
automated sales tools. “
•“We use these services
ourselves,” said one enthusiastic IBM marketer.
•The price floor is in
the $100,000 range for a departmental set up.
•The pay off time for a
20-person sales force is less than six months.
